Milestones

The girls loved watching the river otters swim and show off

We've had some milestones in the last two weeks. First, Keith and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. I surprised Keith with a dinner out at Four Swallows. He thought we were going over to friends for dinner, with the kids. But, my friend, Claire, was actually going to watch the girls while we went out for a nice romantic dinner! It was delicious and a much needed night out!

Second, Simone and Amelia started school. Simone went to her "school" by herself for the first time. She goes on Mondays for four hours, while Amelia is at her preschool. This is a big deal, because she has never been dropped off before. For Amelia, it's old hat. She returned to Circle preschool this year. (Next year she will start Kindergarten.) She was happy to see Teacher Jan and her friends.

We also took a trip to the zoo last week with another mom and her two girls. We managed to fit all six of us in Keith's car (no Keith)! The girls had a great time, and it was a big milestone for me in the fact that it was the first time I braved the ENTIRE day in Seattle with the girls.
