helping mommy make the cake
Happy Birthday Simone! Simone turned 2 last Friday and we had a big playdate/party with all of our friends. Our good friend, Calvin, turned 4 last Tuesday, so we did a combo party. I think Keith and I counted 19 kids there total and I'm not sure how many adults. The weather wasn't great, but at least it didn't rain, so we tried to stay outside most of the time. Simone had a fantastic time and didn't really understand that all the fuss was about her. She does tell everyone she meets now that she is "eeoo" and holds up 1 finger (because she can't get the second one up) and that she had a "waaaaa" birthday (because she can't say "wizard of oz"). Of course, I went all out and spent several days working on the "Waaaa" cake. I found some great vintage (1988!) figures on ebay and I went to the local candy store looking for green candy to make the emerald city for this red velvet cake.
Simone got a "Dorothy" Barbie from Aunt Kate and Uncle Alex and she LOVES it. Of course, if we don't have two of everything around here we are in trouble, so Mama Julie (great Aunt) got one for Amelia as well. As you can see, it's been a total "Waaaa" week!
