A two-year-old moment; Simone refuses to go down the park slide without Mommy

School's out! We've really been enjoying hanging out outside; especially in our yard. The girls are really using and loving the playground. Amelia has been spending hours out there, swinging (she can pump now), and hanging upside down, then flipping, on the bar. Simone spends her time going down the slide and will FINALLY go in the swing, thanks to Amelia. She wouldn't do it for mommy or daddy, but Amelia has been able to get her in it and even pushes her! They even have their own system. Simone tells her "baby high" "mama high" or "papa high" to tell her how big of a push she wants. It's adorable and reminds me why we had two kids (instead of one). We also like to go up to the elementary school to play on that playground – I push them there in the Burley so I get exercise, too. These pictures are from that playground.
Last weekend, Keith really wanted to go check out the Civil War Reenactment at Port Gamble, so we decided to make it a family affair. The kids ended up loving it. After the "battle" was over, Simone kept saying "more boom-boom! more boom-boom!" The cannon fire was loud and luckily a very nice lady gave me earplugs for the girls. We got to walk all over and check out the authentic camps for both the Union and Confederates – I have to say, it was very interesting! And I think Keith is ready to join the Yanks!

Fabulous pictures! I think Simone must take after our side of the family in being non-adventurous. Can't wait to see Keith in his Yank uniform.
